Gamechemy

How it works

Your first move is an actual move.

Gamechemy replaces the swipe with a game. You open with a move, they answer with one, and the conversation starts where the game already has.

Step by step

From hello to a game in progress.

  1. 01

    Set up your profile

Tell Gamechemy whether you’re here to date or to make friends, and pick the games you like to play. Your games decide who you see first and power the “You both play” hints.

    • Dating or friendship, switch any time
    • Favorite games are part of sign-up
    • Photos are checked before anyone sees them
  2. 02

    Discover people in Choose

Choose shows one person at a time, full screen. Not for you? Scroll up or tap Next. The feed only goes forward, and scrolling is unlimited.

    • Filters for age, location, and games
    • Dating and friendship each have their own feed
    • Your exact location is never shown
  3. 03

    Make a move

Like someone? Tap Make a move, pick a game, and play the opening turn on the real board. That move is your hello. No text travels with it, so there’s no pressure to find the perfect line.

    • 16 games can open a move
    • 20 moves a day keeps them thoughtful
    • Games you both play are suggested first
  4. 04

    They answer, or pass quietly

Your move waits in their Moves inbox, at the top of the Chat tab, for 24 hours. To match, they answer with a move of their own. If it’s not for them, they pass and you’re not told.

    • Answering doesn’t count toward the daily limit
    • Pending moves expire after 24 hours
    • Blocking ends a pending move immediately
  5. 05

    Connect and keep playing

A move answered with a move is the match, and it’s permanent. Your chat opens with the game already in progress. From there, play as many games as you like with no deadlines.

    • Rematch or switch games any time
    • Running head-to-head record
    • In friendship, you’re simply friends: no requests

Games that open a move

16 ways to say hello.

A game can open a move only if its first turn can’t end the game and carries no free text. That keeps every opening fair, and keeps the first message about the play.

  • Chess
  • Tic Tac Toe
  • Four in a Row
  • Checkers
  • Rock Paper Scissors
  • Battleship
  • Hangman
  • Memory Match
  • Snakes & Ladders
  • Go
  • Mancala
  • Dots & Boxes
  • Gomoku
  • Nine Men’s Morris
  • Nim
  • Coin Toss

Other ways to meet

Temporary by default, lasting by choice.

Some features pair you with someone new for a limited time. A lasting connection always takes a deliberate choice from both of you.

Stranger Play

Get matched with a compatible person by game and intent, nearby, in your country, or anywhere. Each session comes with a game and a 24-hour chat. To keep the connection, answer with a move, and the running game carries on.

Community

Post a local meetup or an online game request. You choose who joins: accepted people get a permanent match and a chat. Posts expire automatically.

By design

What you won’t find on Gamechemy.

  • No swiping

There’s no left or right. One person at a time, and a move is the only way to show interest.

  • No plain likes

Every sign of interest is a real opening move in a real game.

  • No friend requests

In friendship, a move answered with a move makes you friends.

  • No voice or video calls

Chat is text, alongside your games.
